Where do you shop for bathing suits? Which brands or styles do you recommend for a slim petite body type?

Tramanh:  What to wear if you’re SLIM and PETITE?  What the problem is??  I think pretty much any bathing suit would look great on you!

I have bathing suits from random places.  I have one from J.Crew, one from Marshalls, a couple from F21, a couple from Target.  If there’s a Loehmann’s around you, when they start putting swimsuits out, they carry a pretty good selection.  Sorry, I can’t really recommend any particular brand.  You really just have to try them on.  Two slim and petite girls can look TOTALLY different in the same swimsuit.

Steph: Haha, I read this question & was like, “Why would she have problems finding a bathing suit?  SLIM & PETITE IS IDEAL.”  Everything will look great, you just have to play up your assets & figure out what you feel most comfortable in.  For instance, I’m not very comfortable in push-up bathing suit tops (looks too much like bras) so even though I’m small-chested, I still opt for no underwire.  I like a medium bottom, not TOO big to look like granny panties, but not TOO small where my buttcrack is eating it.

I buy mine EVERYWHERE - PacSun, Victoria’s Secret, Target, Old Navy, etc.  I like to mix & match - so a solid top with printed bottoms that have coordinating colors, etc.  That way, it expands my wardrobe & it’s not so matchy-matchy.  I recently started doing this because most of my prints have been difficult to match. 

Also, don’t forget WHY you’re wearing a bathing suit - if you’re going to go swimming at the beach, then maybe a bandeau top isn’t the best (so much risk of it falling down), if you’re going to go tanning, avoid metals (burn!)
